Monticello Lions thank you for supporting Red Cross Blood Drive

To the Editor and the Monticello Community,

   The Monticello Lions extend our thanks to the Monticello community and neighboring communities for supporting the Red Cross Blood Drive on April 4. The Lions also thank the Monticello Express, the Monticello Fareway store, and the Monticello Rotary for their support.

   The weather did play a role in the reduction of donors. Time changes were made by the Red Cross and Lions to protect donors and the Red Cross staff from potential weather conditions.

   We had six power red donors who donated 11 power red units of blood. There were 36 donors who donated 36 units of blood, for a total of 47 units of blood. We had three donors who were unable to donate blood. The Lions thank you for your desire to donate. We also had some potential donors who were unable to donate because of the time changes due to the potential weather threat. Your desire to donate is very much appreciated.
