Monticello modifies homecoming festivities
Homecoming week in Monticello is planned for Sept. 21-25.
The Monticello Community School District administration met recently to discuss homecoming festivities. Some changes were made to the regular homecoming schedule due to COVID-19.
There will be no homecoming dance or community parade this year.
There will be daily dress-up days throughout the week, with daily winners announced, as well as a door-decorating contest for each classroom.
MHS seniors can also decorate a parking spot in the high school parking lot for use during the week.
On Monday, Sept. 21, there will be a school board meeting at 6 p.m. The Homecoming Coronation will begin at 7 p.m., followed by the Powder Puff game at 7:15 on Dean Nelson Field.
On Friday, Sept. 25, the homecoming game against Tipton will include varsity only at 7 p.m. The JV team will play on Monday, Sept. 28.
