March is National Social Worker Month. MNRC Social Worker Cassandra Wood is pictured with resident John Bell. Wood enjoys social work because she gets to interact with residents on a one-on-one basis. “I get to learn about them and their lives before MNRC. I enjoy being able to be there to listen to their stories and to be someone they can lean on when needed.”

     Staff and residents at Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center are looking forward to March Madness. Each resident will fill out their own bracket. Master brackets will be posted in the main hallway so residents may keep track of the games.

     March is also National Social Workers Month. MNRC thanks their social worker, Cassandra Wood.

     Listed below are the activities scheduled for March. All activities subject to change.

     Wednesday, March 4 – 9:30 a.m. exercise; 10 a.m. I Spy; 2:30 p.m. United Church service; 7 p.m. card Bingo.

     Thursday, March 5 – 9:30 a.m. exercise; 10 a.m. rosary; 10 a.m. Kool-aid play dough; 1:15 p.m. spa day.

     Friday, March 6 –Employee Appreciation Day. 9:30 a.m. exercise; 10 a.m. rainbow cake mix bars; 2:15 p.m. Bingo.

     Monday, March 9 – 9:30 a.m. exercise; 10 a.m. Dotty name art; 2:15 p.m. filling out March Madness brackets.

     Tuesday, March 10 –9:30 a.m. exercise; 10 a.m. Wheel of Fortune; 2:15 p.m. music with Dale.

     Wednesday, March 11 – Registered Dietician Day. 9:30 a.m. exercise; 10 a.m. remembering pets; 2:15 p.m. hand-colored ornament.

     Thursday, March 12 –9:30 a.m. exercise; 10 a.m. Rosary; 10 a.m. Nix the Six; 1:15 p.m. Catholic communion.

     Friday, March 13 –9:30 a.m. exercise; 10 a.m. lucky mint chip cookies; 2:15 Bingo.

     Saturday, March 14 –10 a.m. coverall with Donna.

     Monday, March 16 – 9:30 a.m. exercise; 10 a.m. Pot O’Gold dice game; 2:15 p.m. music with Marv; 5:30 p.m. music with Frank.

     Tuesday, March 17 – 9:30 a.m. exercise; 10 a.m. Clover All Over card game; 2:15 p.m. food demo with Chef Kevin and music with Dave W.

     Wednesday, March 18 – 9:30 a.m. exercise; 10 a.m. Truth or Blarney and remembering the luck of the Irish; 1:15 p.m. spa day.

     Thursday, March 19 –9:30 a.m. exercise; 10 a.m. Rosary; 10:30 a.m. Lutheran Communion; 2:15 p.m. Above & Beyond.

     Friday, March 20 –9:30 a.m. exercise; 10 a.m. Roll a Leprechaun; 2:15 Bingo.

     Saturday, March 21 –10 a.m. Dice Bingo with Jenn.

     Monday, March 23 – 9:30 a.m. exercise; 10 a.m. food council; 3 p.m. music with Heartland.

     Tuesday, March 24 – 9:30 a.m. exercise; 10 a.m. March Bingo; 2:15 p.m. sing a long with Joyce and Iva.

     Wednesday, March 25 – 9:30 a.m. exercise; 10 a.m. music with Harry; 2:15 egg carton flowers craft.

     Thursday, March 26 –9:30 a.m. exercise; 10 a.m. Rosary; 10 a.m. LRC dice game; 2:15 p.m. making cards for cancer patients day.

     Friday, March 27 –9:30 a.m. exercise; 10 a.m. story hour with Monticello Library; 11 a.m. Bingo Buck store; 2:15 Bingo.

     Monday, March 30 – 9:30 a.m. exercise; 10 a.m. resident council; 2:15 p.m. movie and snack.

     Tuesday, March 31 – 9:30 a.m. exercise; 10 a.m. Family Feud; 2:15 p.m. plastic bottle garden.
