MNRC resident June Zirkelbach is greeted by her daughter and son-in-law Barb and Steve Smith from outside her window at MNRC. Due to COVID-19, families and friends cannot meet with their loved ones face-to-face at the nursing home. So many have been improvising and showing up outside their windows with posters and pictures to share.

     Staff and residents at Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center  continue to have activities twice a day, however no group activities.  Staff are going room-to-room to offer the activities and help residents participate.

     April is Occupational Therapy Month. Volunteer Week is April 6-12 and Laundry and Linen Week is April 19-25.

     Listed below are the activities scheduled for April. All activities subject to change.

     Overhead Bingo is part of April activities. Three numbers are called a day. After five winners, the game is started over.

     Wednesday, April 1 – Morning: Nails. Afternoon: adult coloring.

     Thursday, April 2 – Morning: National Geographic shows. Afternoon: Facetime and Skype calls.

     Friday, April 3 –Morning: What’s in the sock. Afternoon: Roommate social distancing volleyball.

     Monday, April 6 – Morning: I Spy. Afternoon: Remembering Kite Flying.

     Tuesday, April 7 –Morning: Upcycled puzzle. Afternoon: Forest Funnies.

     Wednesday, April 8 – Morning: Facetime and Skype calls. Afternoon: Spring cleaning.

     Thursday, April 9 – Morning: Nails. Afternoon: Coloring Easter eggs.

     Friday, April 10 – Morning: Peek-a-boo Easter Chick. Afternoon: What’s Wrong With This Picture?

     Saturday, April 11 – Hand out Easter bags.

     Monday, April 13 – Morning: Zoo on Facebook. Afternoon: Facetime and Skype calls.

     Tuesday, April 14 – Morning: Making pocket magnetic holders. Afternoon: Nails.

     Wednesday, April 15 – Morning: I Spy. Afternoon: Biodegradable starter pots.

     Thursday, April 16 –Morning: Hallway Hockey. Afternoon: Traveling Happy Hour.

     Friday, April 17 – Morning: Forest Funnies. Afternoon: Board games.

     Saturday, April 18 –Morning: One to one activities with Donna.

     Monday, March 20 – Morning: Playing cards. Afternoon: Plastic bottle garden.

     Tuesday, April 21 – Morning: Facetime and Skype calls. Afternoon: spring cleaning.

     Wednesday, April 22 – Morning: Earth Day coloring. Afternoon: Earth Day detective.

     Thursday, April 23 –Morning: Sorting buttons. Afternoon: Making pocket magnetic holders.

     Friday, April 24 – Morning: Nails. Afternoon: Cup stacking.

     Saturday, April 25 – Morning: One to one activities with Jenn. Hairstylist Appreciation Day.

     Monday, April 27 – Morning: Resident and food council. Afternoon: We’ve Got Your Goat.

     Tuesday, April 28 – Morning: April trivia. Afternoon: Nails.

     Wednesday, April 29 – Morning: Price is Right. Afternoon: Board games.
