Monticello Public Library News

     The Summer Reading Program has started at the Monticello Public Library. Here is what’s happening:

     • Michele Olson, Jones County naturalist, will be at the library on Wednesday, June 7, at 10:30 a.m. She will present her program Backyard Habitat – Prairie & Pollinator.

     • Kids ages 4 and up can join the library on Thursday, June 8, for Lunch Bunch Building Time where you will have fun building with LEGOs. The program runs from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Bring your own sack lunch to enjoy.

     • Friday, June 9, is the first Crafty Friday. Join the library in a drop-in craft from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

     • Movies are shown at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Movie Mondays, beginning June 12.

     • Tweens and teens can sign up for the three-week program Build a Better Snack with Iowa State Extension. The program starts Tuesday, June 13, and ends Tuesday, June 27. It runs from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. This program is for kids ages 11 and up. Registration is required.

     • A program presented by Green Iowa AmeriCorps in conjunction with ECICOG will be presented on Wednesday, June 14, at 10:30 a.m. It will feature information on ways to help the environment.
