Rotary Clubs from Monticello, Anamosa and Mount Vernon-Lisbon joined in fellowship on Oct. 10 at Cornell College in Mount Vernon.

After a brief meeting, 50-plus attendees enjoyed dinner and a presentation from Rotary District 5970 Governor Michelle Belle. Belle is an ACE Manager from Simulations and Training Solutions within Mission Systems for Collins Aerospace. She shared how many of the Lean Six Sigma principles and disciplines she works with at Collins help her to be a leader within the Rotary organization as well.

Rotary International is a global service and non-profit organization with 25-plus members in Monticello. It is dedicated to humanitarian causes locally and throughout the world. Rotary’s charitable arm is The Rotary Foundation, whose grants enable Rotary Club members to advance that mission. The Foundation is funded solely by voluntary contributions from members and friends who share the Foundation’s vision for a better world. Projects like the Oak Street flowers pots, the city fountain, and the Willow Park Trail have locally received monies from Rotary.
