Monticello School Board Recognition Month

Craig Stadtmueller

In honor of School Board Recognition Month in May, the Monticello Express will spotlight a different member of the Monticello Community School District Board of Education each week during the month.

This week, get to know Board member Craig Stadtmueller.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I am married to Lisa and we have two children, Jessica and Brandt. Our lives revolve around our family, friends, community, and faith in Christ Jesus. We enjoy the outdoors, exploring new places, and laughing together around the dinner table.

How many years have you served on the board?

     Three and a half.

What is the one thing you learned while on their board that you didn’t know before becoming a board member?

Before becoming a board member, I did not have an informed appreciation for how much work and commitment it takes from everyone in the school district to provide a suitable learning environment, countless opportunities, and effective instruction for students.

What advice would you give to a future board member?

I would encourage others to consider becoming a board member.

My advice to future board members would be to listen carefully, ask questions, adopt a solution mindset, and make decisions based on what is best for students.

When a student graduates from Monticello High School, what skills do you expect them to have?

When students graduate from Monticello High School, I expect them to be caring, productive, creative, life-long learners.

When thinking about the Monticello Community School District, what thoughts come to mind?

The Monticello Community School District enjoys a storied past, recent success, and a bright future. We have an exciting district that is both improving and striving to improve through executing a well-conceived strategic operating plan. Together, with extraordinary community support, our district will continue to advance and equip students, presenting them opportunities to be successful in all of their endeavors.
