Moser showcase set for May 20

Moser School of Dance and Gymnastics, celebrating more than 40 years of teaching area youth, will present its Monticello area annual dance and gymnastics showcase on Saturday, May 20, 7 p.m. at the Monticello Middle School gym.

Moser students ages 3-18 will be performing a variety of jazz, hip-hop, ballet, tap dance, and gymnastics routines during the 90-minute show. The area students have been studying with Moser’s each Wednesday, September through May, at the Monticello Community Building in Monticello. The public is welcome to attend.

Registration brochures for fall classes and summer clinics are available. Call or email owners, instructors and choreographers Carmen Moser Payne of Edgewood, 563-928-6843; or Debbie Moser of Dyersville, 563-875-2846. Bernita Moser and Kattie Payne Schulte of Strawberry Point are also among the coaches.

Moser School of Dance and Gymnastics has four seniors this season who will be performing in their annual showcase, Katelyn Mangold, Kira Johnson, Karalyn Recker, and Trent Reeves.

Mangold, daughter of Chuck and Tanya Mangold of Manchester, will be performing in her 13th annual gymnastics Moser Showcase.

Johnson, daughter of Rick and Shelly Johnson of Independence, will be performing in her 14th Moser Showcase and has studied tap dance, jazz/hip-hop, ballet and gymnastics during her time with Moser’s.

Recker is the daughter of Pam Westemeier of Coggon. This is her 15th year with the Moser school and she has studied tap, jazz/hip-hop and gymnastics.

Reeves, of Delaware, is the son of Jake Reeves and Carley Rabino, and will be performing in his first Moser Showcase. He studied jazz/hip-hop with the Moser School this year.

“Our four seniors are great role models for all who come in contact with them,” Debbie Moser said. “If they choose a different path next season, we will miss our very talented dancers and gymnasts, but, above all, we will miss our friends.”
