MV's Whittenbaugh nominated by Gazette

Emerson Whittenbaugh of Maquoketa Valley, shown in the State Class 2A Girls Basketball Tournament championship game in March, was one of five Iowa female athletes nominated as Gazette Athlete of the Year. Whittenbaugh came back from a serious knee injury to earn first team all-state honors in girls basketball, and was third team all-state in volleyball, finishing second in the state (all classes) in kills.
