The Monticello Fire Department responded to a one-vehicle accident on 190th Street near Camp Courageous on Nov. 1 around 3:15 p.m.

The Jones County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene. John Tanner Hargrafen, 22, of Hopkinton, was driving a 2004 Terragator 6103 three-wheel floater, pulling a conveyor field loader. He was eastbound on 190th and missed his turn into a farm field. According to the Sheriff’s Report, Hargrafen stated he was not aware the road ahead of him was a steep grade downhill. He was unable to slow down enough to negotiate the curve. He lost control and rolled the floater onto the driver’s side, ending up in the ditch against some trees. No injuries were reported.

Damage to Hargrafen’s floater is estimated at $20,000, and $10,000 in damages to the loader.
