     Parents: Dianne Pedrin, Pete Rieniets, the late Brad Stephen.

     Sport in which you participate: Basketball.

     Awards received: Academic Awards all four years, Hustle Award, Most Improved Player.

     Season goals: State, conference champs!

     I like this sport because: I hate running on treadmills but you don’t notice all the running you do on the basketball court. I love the competition.

     What is something the average person doesn’t know about your sport? Monticello bench is lit! Games aren’t won on the court, they’re won on the bench.

     Biggest sports thrill as a participant: Making the three-pointer to go into overtime against Mount Vernon my junior year.

     Pre-competition rituals/superstitions: I wear my hair the same way every game in a winning streak; listening to “pump up” jams with my team in the locker room before the game.

     Biggest academic accomplishment: Graduating high school with 52.5 college credits, allowing me to complete my bachelor’s degree in nursing in three years.

     Biggest influence: My mom.

     Favorite male athlete: Payton Manning.

     Favorite female athlete: Close tie between Jacqueline Petersen and Rylee Warthen.

     Favorite pro team: Detroit Lions.

     Favorite college team: Michigan Wolverines.

     Favorite subject in school: Science/biology.

     Favorite teacher: Mrs. Gilchrist.

     Favorite TV show: “One Tree Hill.”

     Favorite movie: “What Dreams May Come.”

     Favorite musicians: Florida Georgia Line.

     Favorite food: Spaghetti.

     Nickname: “Shayzer.”

     Most famous person I’ve met: Dianne Pedrin.

     Jobs/other activities: Baker at Baked, volunteer for Camp Courageous of Iowa, I donate blood whenever I can.

     College and future plans: Attend the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh to attain a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
