Panther squad doles out awards

The Monticello High School boys track and field team had its annual awards event June 30 at MHS. 

Awards were presented to members of the team in eight categories. They are as follows: 

MVP – Avery Martensen, senior. 

Most Improved – Caden Ungs, sophomore. 

Best Field Event Athlete – Wade Picray, senior. 

Best Sprinter – Gavin Cooper, senior. 

Best Distance Runner – Jasper Nietert, sophomore. 

Best Freshman – Carter Kurt. 

Commitment Club – Jon Mootz, senior. 

Panther Pride – David Titman, senior.
