The Monticello High School Panther dance team pom section attended the Universal Dance Association (UDA) Dance Camp in July at Iowa State University.

The team received an overall specialty award. Each team dancer received a superior ribbon.

Captains Anisa Krouse, Emma Brighton, and Nicole Smith were selected as UDA All-Americans. These dancers had to try out for this honor.

Skyleigh Husmann received a pin-it-forward award for being noticed as a positive leader.

The Panthers placed fourth in home routine against Class 4A/5A schools. Cedar Rapids Prairie took third, Western Dubuque second, and Iowa City West first.

The team, which earlier had qualified for dance nationals in Orlando, Fla., also received a spirit stick each day.
