Polling place, times listed for Sept. 11 vote

     The Monticello School Special Election will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 11. Voters in the Monticello Community School District can cast their vote at the Berndes Center (located at the fairgrounds). The polling site will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

     For elections held in 2018, pre-registered voters are required to provide an approved form of identification or sign an oath of identification at the polling place before receiving and casting a ballot. Voters who are not pre-registered and voters who have moved precincts will also be required to provide proof of residence.

     Only voters residing in the Monticello School District in Jones, Delaware, Dubuque and Linn counties are eligible to vote in this election.

     In-person absentee voting in the Jones County Auditor Office’s is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with some extended hours, until 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 10. Voted absentee ballots returned by mail must be postmarked no later than Sept. 10, and received in the Auditor’s Office no later than noon on Monday, Sept. 17 to be considered.
