Primary Election nomination papers now available

     Whitney Hein, Jones County auditor and commissioner of elections, announces that the nomination filing period for the June 4, 2024 Primary Election will begin Monday, March 4, in the Jones County Auditor’s Office.

   Democratic, Libertarian, and Republican candidates for the offices of County Supervisor Districts 1, 2, and 5; County Auditor; and County Sheriff must file nomination papers in the Auditor’s Office between March 4 and March 22, at 5 p.m. Nomination petitions for all candidates must contain the signatures of at least 75 eligible electors of Jones County.

   Non-partisan candidates for county offices, township offices, county ag extension, and soil and water will need to file candidate paperwork in August 2024 for the Nov. 5, 2024 General Election.

   Nomination packets are now available in the Jones County Auditor’s Office and are also available under upcoming elections on the Jones County Elections website (www.jonescountyiowaelections.gov). Supervisor district maps may be viewed on the county website or in the Auditor’s Office.
