RAGBRAI plans overnight stop in Anamosa

RAGBRAI (The Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa) has announced an overnight stop in Jones County.

The 2020 route takes riders from Western Iowa, Le Mars, to Eastern Iowa, Clinton. Overnight towns from July 19-25 include: Storm Lake, Fort Dodge, Iowa Falls, Waterloo, Anamosa, and Maquoketa.

This is the 48th year for RAGBRAI. The route will be the sixth shortest in the history of the event across Iowa.

The last time Anamosa hosted RAGBRAI was in 2012. This will be their fourth overnight visit to Anamosa after stops in 1991, 2002, and 2012.

The fifth day of the ride from Waterloo into Anamosa will be the most difficult. Bicyclists will ride 85 miles with 3,078 feet of climb.
