Rep. Bradley refuses to answer voters’ questions

Letter to the Editor

To the Editor,

I have had time to reflect on the legislative forum this morning (March 2) in Bellevue. Thank you to the sponsors, Jackson County Farm Bureau.

I used the opportunity to ask Rep. Steve Bradley if he has read the Federalist Papers, one set of the documents that would be required study starting in fifth grade if HF 2544 is to be passed by both houses and signed by Governor Reynolds. (The Federalist Papers are complicated reading, by the way.)

Instead of answering my question, Rep. Bradley asked where I had attended college and was I a history major. I asked him to please answer my question. He responded that he wasn’t going to get into this at the forum.

Another attendee asked Rep. Bradley about the language in this history curriculum bill. He responded by listing his relatives who had served in the military. He did not answer the question.

A third attendee asked Rep. Bradley if he would support an increase in the minimum wage. He responded by asking the person if they knew anyone who is paid minimum wage. He did not answer the question.

My conclusion: Rep. Steve Bradley does not want to answer questions asked by voters in his district.
