Robert Ammeter Feb. 26, 1931-Feb. 12, 2017

     Robert Ammeter, age 85, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017 at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness.

     Funeral Services will be held 10:30 Friday morning, Feb. 17, 2016 at St. John Lutheran Church, rural Monticello. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery with full Military Honors by the Offutt Air Force Base Honors Team. Rev. Reed Stockman will officiate at the services.      Surviving is his wife, Donna; two daughters, Karen (Russell) Barenz, Swisher, Kathy (Gary) Nagel, Monticello; five grandchildren, Stacy (Ken) Barenz, Ryan (April) Barenz, Jeff (Kylie) Nagel, Kendi (Mitch) Monk, Jaycie Nagel; one great-grandson, Carver Monk; two sisters, Betty Wilson, Solon, Naomi Cook, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters Lavina Goos and Mary Hutchinson. 

     Robert William Ammeter was born Feb. 26, 1931 at Delhi, Iowa. He was the son of William and Mary Sulzner, Ammeter. He graduated from the Delhi High School in 1948. Robert married Donna Chapman on Feb. 26, 1955 at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. Robert enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1948 retiring as a Master Sargent after 20 years of service to his country in 1968. He was employed at Wathan Flying Service in Cedar Rapids before working for the FAA in Dubuque. 

     Bob enjoyed playing golf, fishing and camping, building and flying model aircraft. He especially enjoyed time with his family and friends.
