      Roger Jackson, 70, of Anamosa, formerly of Blue Springs, Mo., died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2022 at Jones Regional Medical Center in Anamosa.

    Roger’s family greeted friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022 at Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa. Burial will be at a later date.

    Roger Leeman Jackson was born Sept. 15, 1952 in Knoxville, Tenn., the son of Noble and Edith (Rogers) Jackson. He was inducted into the U.S. Army and proudly served his country from December of 1970 to December of 1972, at which time he was granted honorable discharge. On March 10, 1973 he was united in marriage to Yvonne Tinch in Ludlow, Ky. He was employed in supervisory and management for a number of manufacturing companies, including Orbis Manufacturing in Monticello.

    He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and season ticket holder. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was known for his expert storytelling. He was a man who made friends easily, always bringing a smile to the faces of people around him, and loved spending time with those friends, but especially his family.

    He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Yvonne; his sons Chris of Cedar Rapids, and John (Jaclyn) of Anamosa; grandchildren Ethan, Vivian, and Bristol, who is due in January; a sister, Sue Jackson, a brother, Frank, and a brother-in-law and his wife, Gregory and Linda Tinch.

    He was preceded in death by a grandson, Taylor Siebels, his parents, and a brother, Darrel.
