Final plans are coming together for the annual Sacred Heart School Holiday Gala.

The event takes place Saturday, Nov. 13. The theme this year is “Joy to the World.”

“We are so pleased to have an in-person event,” expressed the Gala committee.

The evening will begin with a social hour at 5:30 p.m. at the Monticello Berndes Center. The Gala’s seated dinner is catered by J&D Mart.

The highlight of the event is the auction. The silent and live auction will have many unique items.

“This is a perfect opportunity to start your holiday shopping. There is something for everyone,” offered the committee.

Some of the items include: a Wisconsin Dells vacation getaway, a handcrafted oak and walnut chest, dinner with the Archbishop, several great group dinners, event tickets, collectibles, toys and items created by each classroom.

“New this year, we will have a DJ following the live auction,” the committee said. “Stay and enjoy music and fellowship.”

This is the school’s major fundraiser and its success plays a major role in continuing the tradition of Catholic education in the community for almost 100 years. Proceeds from the annual Gala allow the Booster Club to provide tuition assistance to each Sacred Heart student, purchase classroom supplies, and contribute to funding for special purchases/projects. The most recent project included the purchase of Promethean interactive display boards for each classroom to support student learning. Teachers are able to use a variety of tools to display content and present interactive lessons. Teachers and students can write and draw on the board and capture their work.

Your generosity allows Sacred Heart School to continue their tradition of providing students with a Christ-centered education, focused on rigorous academics, service to others, and faith-driven leadership. Sacred Heart students provide community service in a variety of ways such as cards and placemats for the care center, veterans, and parish members, donations of birthday boxes to the food pantry, clean up at Riverside Gardens, helping plant trees at Central Park, and participating in the Day of Caring.

Sacred Heart School families and staff are grateful to everyone who has provided generous support for this event in previous years. Please continue to support the students by attending the Gala, donating a silent or live auction item, a monetary donation or volunteering your time at the event. Donors will be listed in the parish bulletin each week before the Gala and the auction booklet that will be available at the Gala.

Tickets are still available through the school office by calling 319-465-4605.
