Second annual Pork-er Ride is set

     The second annual Jones County Pork Producers Pork-er Ride will be Saturday, Sept. 19.

     The event is a scenic ATV/UTV ride throughout the county, stopping at local restaurants along the way.

     It begins at 11 a.m. at Coonhunters for lunch. The ride begins at noon, and will go to Two Gingers in Cascade, the Hillside Sports Bar & Grill in Monticello, and The Grove in Scotch Grove.

     Like a poker run, each stop will earn the rider one card. With the opportunity to earn additional cards throughout the day, the person with the best “pig” is entered for a chance to win $100 in pork cash, which can be redeems at any grocery store for pork products.

     Each ATV must be registered with your county and have the proper insurance.

     This year’s event will be capped at 250 tickets sold. Last year’s event had 105 tickets sold and 37 ATVs taking part.
