Sen. Zumbach announces re-election bid

     Senator Dan Zumbach, R-Ryan, filed his paperwork to seek another term in the Iowa Senate representing District 48.

     Currently Sen. Zumbach is the chair of the Senate Agriculture Committee and the vice chair of the Administration and Regulation Appropriations Subcommittee. Additionally, he serves on the Natural Resources & Environment and Transportation committees.

     “While in the Senate, we tirelessly worked to ensure families got to keep more of the money they worked hard to earn,” said Sen. Zumbach. “We want to implement policies to uplift families, support farmers, and help rural communities grow and thrive.

     “In the last several years, Iowa has become one of the best states for education, with the highest high school graduation rate in the country. We have one of the lowest unemployment rates in the United States and have more job openings than people looking for work in our state. We have accomplished a lot in making our state the best place to live, work and raise a family, and there’s more we want to do to build on those accomplishments. I want to keep working to make Iowa not just one of the best, but the best state for education, careers, and families.”

     Sen. Zumbach is a farmer from Delaware County. Besides his work on the family farm, Sen. Zumbach is a former member of the West Delaware School Board and the Delaware County Fair Board. He is a former Delaware County 4-H leader, a former official for the Iowa High School Athletic Association and Ryan Lions Club. Sen. Zumbach is also a member of Farm Bureau and the Lutheran Church.

     He and his wife, Michelle, have four children, four grandchildren, and live near Ryan.
