Seventh-grade Monti Heat has strong season

     The Monticello Heat seventh-grade volleyball team had its season cut short due to the coronavirus, but had “a spectacular season,” according to head coach Jenna Peters.

     The Heat won every league match to finish first in its league, as well as every seventh-grade tournament in which it played. Its only loss was to the Monti Heat eighth-grade team in the semifinals of Monticello’s home tournament.

     “This team consists of strong volleyball players who have great chemistry and work very well together,” Peters said.

     “I believe these girls improved the most in their confidence within themselves. This group of very coachable seventh-graders is going to do big things.”
