Sheriff’s Office takes part in S.T.E.P.

     The Jones County Sheriff’s Office participated in the Special Traffic Enforcement Program (S.T.E.P.) This program ran from March 14-17.

     During this S.T.E.P. wave, the Jones County Sheriff’s Office issued:

     • Three citations

     • 38 warnings

     • One OWI arrest

     • One Motorist assist

     • One arrest was served

     • One felony arrest was made

     A pre-wave seatbelt survey showed 86 percent usage, and a post-wave survey of 87 percent usage.

     The next S.T.E.P. wave will be May 21 through June 3.
