Sheriff Report

     A one-vehicle accident took place on Dec. 20 at 12:50 a.m. on Highway 151 south of Cascade. Devyn E. Koehl, 21, of Lakemoore, Ill., was driving a 2000 Ford Mustang when she hit a patch of ice, lost control, entered the median and flipped onto its top. Both Koehl and her passenger, Michael E. Pulley, 22, were taken by Cascade Ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Dubuque for minor injuries. Koehl’s vehicles sustained approximately $10,000 in damages.

     A one-vehicle accident took place on Dec. 16 at 10:52 p.m. on Highway 38. Kaylin Ann Slaymaker, 17, of Cedar Rapids, was driving a 2014 Kia Rio. The roadway was covered in snow. Slaymaker lost control, crossed the centerline and then slid into the ditch. From there, her vehicle struck a cement culvert, swinging the car sideways, coming to rest in the ditch. Slaymaker was transported to Jones Regional Medical Center for minor injuries. Her vehicle sustained approximately $8,000 in damages.
