Sheriff's Report

A car versus deer accident took place on Jan. 3 at 9:30 a.m. on Highway 151. Daniel Joseph Soo-Hong Ledin, 20, of Middleton, Wis., was driving a 2011 Acura when he encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Ledin’s vehicle sustained an estimated $2,000 in damages. 

A two-vehicle accident took place on Dec. 28 at 9:56 p.m. at the intersection of Cleveland Street and Highway 38/Jackson Street. Sierra Louise Leif, 16, of Mechanicsville was driving a 2010 GMC Sierra as she approached the intersection. She came to a stop before entering Jackson Street. Tyler Vance Maschmann, 18, of Mechanicsville was driving a 1992 Chevy 2500 traveling south on Jackson Street when he was struck by Leif. Both drivers were uninjured. Leif ’s vehicle sustained approximately $5,000 in damages. Maschmann’s vehicle also sustained $5,000 in damages.
