Sheriff's Report

     A car versus deer accident took place on March 29 at 6:31 a.m. on Highway 151. Lisa Kay McWhortor, 54, of Anamosa was driving a 2012 Ford Escape when she encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. McWhortor’s vehicle sustained an estimated $1,500 in damages.

     A single-vehicle accident took place on April 1 at 3:55 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 136 and 75th Street south of Wyoming. Owen Michael Doll, 17, of Wyoming was driving a 2006 Volvo XC90 southbound on 136 when he entered the ditch on the passenger side. Doll’s vehicle rolled several times before coming to rest on its wheels. Doll was transported by Wyoming Ambulance to Jones Regional Medical Center for possible injuries. His vehicle sustained $15,000 in damages. Doll was cited for violation of minor’s restricted license and failure to maintain control.

     A car versus deer accident took place on March 30 at 6:31 a.m. on County Road X-40. Darren Alfred Moore, 45, of Anamosa was driving a 2013 Honda Ridgeline when he encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Moore’s vehicle sustained an estimated $3,000 in damages.
