Sheriff's Report

     A car versus deer accident took place on June 5 at 9:47 p.m. on Highway 151. Kayla Marie Bevins, 27, of Waterloo was driving a 2005 Toyota Prius when she encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Bevins’ vehicle sustained an estimated $5,000 in damages.

     A car versus deer accident took place on June 7 at 10:41 a.m. on County Road E-28/Ridge Road. Jordyn Hope Callahan, 21, of Stanwood was driving a 2020 Hyundai Tucson when she encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Callahan’s vehicle sustained an estimated $1,500 in damages.

     A two-vehicle accident took place on May 27 at 12:44 p.m. on County Road X-40. Levi Carpenter, 18, of Tipton was driving a 1998 Ford RNG. Emalissa Hunt, 18, of Morley was driving a 1997 Ford Escort. Carpenter was following Hunt at too close of a distance when Hunt applied her brakes. Carpenter struck Hunt’s vehicle before leaving the scene. Both drivers were uninjured. Carpenter’s vehicle sustained $1,000 in damages, while Hunt’s vehicle sustained $5,000 in damages.

     A single-vehicle accident took place on June 8 at 5:39 p.m. on 155th Street. William Collins Glass, 52, of Keosauqua was driving a 2013 Nissan NNV when he looked down. Glass’ vehicle left the roadway and rolled onto the passenger side in the ditch. Glass suffered minor/non-incapacitating injuries. His vehicle sustained approximately $10,000 in damages.
