Sheriff's Report

     A one-vehicle accident took place on April 14 on 70^th St. in Olin. Andrew Joe Oberholser, 26, of North Liberty, was driving a 1999 Mercury Mountaineer van westbound when he lost control of the vehicle, entered the south ditch, and struck a culvert, resulting in a vehicle rollover striking a utility pole. Oberholser sustained minor injuries, and his vehicle sustained $4,500 in damages. He was cited for failure to maintain control.

     A van versus deer accident took place on April 17 on County Road E-29 in Onslow. Lacey Lynn Leytem of Onslow was driving a 2012 Chrysler Town & Country van when a deer ran out of the ditch and collided with the front and side of her vehicle. No injuries were reported. Leytem’s vehicle sustained $3,000 in damages.

     A truck versus deer accident took place on April 19 on County Road X-40 in Anamosa. Jeffory Scott Kray of Morley was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado truck when his vehicle struck a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. The vehicle sustained $5,000 in damage to the front end.
