Sheriff's Report

     A two-vehicle accident took place on Aug. 21 at 6:19 p.m. on County Road E-34. Gina Linn Durgin, 25, of Anamosa was driving a 2001 Mercury Sable LS as she attempted to turn left on Fish Road. She was struck from behind by Clayton Lynn Hollingshead, 63, of Anamosa, driving a 2007 Ford F150. Durgin sustained possible injuries. There was approximately $5,000 in damages to her vehicle, and $2,000 in damages to Hollingshead’s vehicle. Hollingshead was cited for following too close.

     A car vs. cow accident took place on Aug. 22 at 11:31 p.m. on Highway 151. Patrick Joseph Spellerberg, 50, of Mount Vernon was driving a 2016 Ford F250 as he approached the old Business Highway 151 intersection. A cow came out of the median and struck the driver’s side of the vehicle, totaling the vehicle. No injuries were reported. The owner of the cattle is Fanfare Farm Inc. (Klark and Brittany Telleen). Damage to Spellerberg’s vehicle was estimated at $8,000.

     A car vs. cow accident took place on Aug. 23 at 12:43 a.m. on Highway 151. Roger Fredrich Haas, Jr., 60, of Nevada was driving a 1999 Chevy Blazer south on 151 when a cow came across the median and hit the driver’s side, totaling the vehicle. No injuries were reported. The owner of the cattle is Fanfare Farm Inc. (Klark and Brittany Telleen). Damage to Haas’ vehicle was estimated at $5,000.
