Sheriff's Report

     A car versus deer accident took place on Oct. 24 at 10:19 p.m. on Highway 151. Courtney Marie Friedman, 37, of Hazel Green, Wis., was driving a 2018 Hyundai Elantra when she encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Friedman’s vehicle sustained an estimated $8,000 in damages.

     A car versus deer accident took place on Oct. 25 at 1:45 a.m. on County Road X-40. Jenna Marie Eidel-Matula, 16, of Anamosa, was driving a 2004 Toyota Camry when she encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Eidel-Matula’s vehicle sustained an estimated $5,000 in damages.

     A car versus deer accident took place on Oct. 25 at 6:40 p.m. on Highway 151. Gregory Joseph Hill, 46, of Dubuque, was driving a 2020 Subaru when he encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Hill’s vehicle sustained an estimated $10,000 in damages.

     A two-vehicle accident took place on Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 151 and Shaw Road. Matthew Joseph Edwards, 34, of Cedar Rapids, was driving a 2010 Kia Soul southbound on 151. Darren Dwayne Dvorak, 51, of Cedar Rapids, was driving a 2008 Toyota FJ as he entered the roadway from the east. This caused Edwards to strike Dvorak on the passenger. Dvorak came to rest in the west ditch on the driver’s side. Edwards came to rest upside down on Shaw Road in the south ditch. Edwards was taken by Life Guard to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for his serious injuries. Dvorak was transported by Mount Vernon/Lisbon Ambulance to St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids for serious injuries. Both vehicles sustained approximately $15,000 in damages.

     A car versus deer accident took place on Oct. 26 at 9 a.m. on Highway 151. Matthew William Smith, 48, of Dubuque, was driving a 2007 Nissan Maxima when he encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Smith’s vehicle sustained an estimated $5,000 in damages.

     A car versus deer accident took place on Oct. 27 at 7:01 a.m. on Highway 151. Molly Josephine Jungling, 38, of Monticello, was driving a 2006 Dodge Dakota when she encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Jungling’s vehicle sustained an estimated $4,000 in damages.

     A car versus deer accident took place on Oct. 27 at 8:44 p.m. on County Road E-29. Alyssa Brooke Staggs, 16, of Wyoming, was driving a 2004 Ford Focus when she encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Staggs’ vehicle sustained an estimated $1,500 in damages.

     A car versus deer accident took place on Oct. 28 at 9:18 p.m. on Highway 151. Skyler Jeffrey Stading, 30, of Monticello, was driving a 2015 Buick Regal when he encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Stading’s vehicle sustained an estimated $1,500 in damages.
