Sheriff's Report

     A car versus deer accident took place on Nov. 7 at 5:11 p.m. on Highway 151. Daniel Alan Mathew Molnar, 22, of Cedar Rapids was driving a 2018 Toyota Sienna SE when he encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Molnar’s vehicle sustained an estimated $3,000 in damages.

     A two-vehicle accident took place on Nov. 8 near the intersection of Valley Road and Highway 151. Christopher Brady Schlemme, 40, of Cascade was driving a 1967 Dodge Coupe as he was attempting to turn into a farm drive off 151. Keith Eugene Smith, 50, of Dubuque was driving a 1997 Dodge Ram and failed to slow down as Schlemme was turning right. Smith rear-ended Schlemme, causing Schlemme to end up in the ditch. Smith was uninjured. Schlemme sustained possible injuries. Damage to Smith’s vehicle was estimated at $3,000, while Schlemme’s vehicle took on $20,000 in damages. Smith was cited for no valid driver’s license, no registration, no insurance, and failure to stop in safe and assured distance.

     A car versus deer accident took place on Nov. 9 at 2:20 a.m. on County Road X-31. Anthony Michael Rickard, 27, of Anamosa was driving a 2010 Chevy Traverse when he encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Rickard’s vehicle sustained an estimated $5,000 in damages.

     A car versus deer accident took place on Nov. 10 at 7:03 a.m. on Highway 136. Kristin Lynde Fuller, 32, of Lost Nation was driving a 2016 Honda CR-V when she encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Fuller’s vehicle sustained an estimated $1,500 in damages.

     A car versus deer accident took place on Nov. 11 at 6:18 a.m. on Highway 151. Sara Lynne Klaren, 61, of Hopkinton was driving a 2020 Ford Escape when she encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Klaren’s vehicle sustained an estimated $1,500 in damages.

     A car versus deer accident took place on Nov. 11 at 10:50 a.m. on Highway 136. Gavin Paul Albers, 30, of Anamosa was driving a 2017 Ram 2500 when he encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Albers’ vehicle sustained an estimated $1,500 in damages.

     A car versus deer accident took place on Nov. 12 at 9:45 p.m. on Highway 151. Mitchell Leroy Langkamp, 25, of Potosi, Wis., was driving a 2003 Buick Century when he encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Langkamp’s vehicle sustained an estimated $5,000 in damages.
