Sheriff's Report

     A single-vehicle accident took place on March 25 at 11:57 a.m. on 130th Street in Anamosa. Charles William Heskett, 78, of Anamosa was driving a 2018 Jeep Compass west on 130th. He crossed over to the other side of the road before entering the ditch. Heskett’s vehicle traveled 50 feet before driving up on the bank, which caused it to overturn. The vehicle came to rest on its top. Heskett was transported by Anamosa Ambulance to Jones Regional Medical Center for his injuries. His vehicle sustained approximately $10,000 in damages.

     A two-vehicle accident took place on April 1 at 9:42 a.m. on Langworthy Road and Highway 151. Cody Allen Herman, 29, of Fennimore, Wis., was driving a 2013 Chevy south on 151. Cornelius Samuel Kohlheim, 49, of Waterloo, was driving a 2005 Lexu ES 330, also traveling south on 151. Herman was behind a semi when he went to pass the semi on the left side. When he pulled around, Kohlheim slowed down. Herman ended up hitting Kohlheim in the rear causing Kohlheim to hit and knock down a road sign. Kohlheim continued to cross the median and both lanes of north-bound traffic. Both drivers sustained possible injuries. Kohlheim’s passenger, Nakia Tyre Long, 21, of Cedar Rapids, sustained injuries and was transported by Monticello Ambulance to Jones Regional Medical Center. Both vehicles sustained approximately $7,000 in damages. Herman was cited for following too close.
