Sheriff's Report
• A motorist from Zwingle struck an unoccupied car along U.S. 151 on Sept. 3.
A crash report states Terrance Lee Ryan was driving south on U.S. 151 at 10:41 a.m. in foggy conditions when he struck a parked car. The crash report states the car was unoccupied and was parked hallway over the fog line in the traveled portion of the highway.
No driver for the parked car could be located, the report states.
Ryan’s 2017 Toyota RAV-4 sustained an estimated $5,000 in damage.
• A driver from Cedar Rapids hit a deer in the road.
A crash report states Jonathan Reed Kenney was driving on County Road E45 at 7:35 a.m. Sept. 3 when he struck the animal.
Damage to Kenney’s 2024 Subaru was estimated at $4,000.
• One vehicle hit another in the Midland High School parking lot Sept. 1.
A crash report states Collin John Alexander Hacke, 17, of Onslow, was reversing and struck the front end of a legally parked car.
The parked 2015 Chevrolet Silverado -- whose owner was not disclosed in the crash report -- sustained an estimated $2,000 in damage. The 1995 Ford F-150 driven by Hacke sustained an estimated $100 in damage.
• All five occupants of a crashed vehicle were transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in a one-car rollover Aug. 31.
• A motorist failed to yield at an intersection and caused a two-vehicle crash, a crash report states.
Waylon James William Von Ahsen, of Anamosa, was traveling south on 215th Avenue at 4:40 p.m. Aug. 29 and approached the intersection with 70th Street. The report states Von Ahsen stopped and then entered the intersection into the path of a vehicle driven by Kameron Shane Strait, of Monticello. The two vehicles collided.
Damage to the 2001 GMC Sierra driven by Von Ahsen was estimated at $5,000, and the vehicle was determined to be a total loss. Strait’s vehicle, a 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche, was also totaled with a damage estimated of $3,000, the report states.
• A piece of construction equipment struck a moving vehicle on U.S. 151 near 215th Avenue.
A crash report states a piece of material used to cover up concrete work being completed on the highway blew up and struck the passenger side of a vehicle driven by Errin Dynamite Borntreger, of Manchester.
Damage to Borntreger’s 2008 Honda CRV was estimated at $1,500.
