Sheriff's Report
• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash Sept. 16.
A crash report states Becky Lyn Kirby-Creveling was driving on 120th Street at 1:45 p.m. when she reportedly lost control of her vehicle after swerving to avoid an animal. In doing to, Kirby-Creveling’s vehicle collided with a jeep parked legally on the roadside, the report states. The owner of the jeep was not disclosed in the crash report.
The 2009 Jeep Wrangler sustained an estimated $6,000 in damage. Kirby-Creveling’s 2022 Jeep Cherokee sustained an estimated $6,000 in damage.
• A Monticello motorist ditched her vehicle after swerving to avoid a deer, a crash report states.
Christina Margaret Vanamburg was driving on Hardscrabble Road at 11 p.m. Sept. 12 when she swerved to avoid the deer and drove her car into the ditch, the report states.
Damage to Vanamburg’s 2014 Chevrolet Impala was estimated at $1,500.
• A driver in a stolen vehicle deliberately crashed into a parked car, a Jones County Sheriff’s Office crash report states.
The incident took place at 3:30 a.m. Sept. 3 on Old. U.S. 151.
The stolen vehicle, a 2017 Dodge Ram 5500, collided with a parked 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe.
“The vehicle can be seen in video driving on the roadway before stopping and reversing into a parked vehicle,” the crash report states. “The action appeared deliberate.”
Damage to the Tahoe was estimated at $5,000.
