Sheriff's Report

     A hit-and-run vehicle vs. pedestrian accident took place on Oct. 20 at 7:06 p.m. on Newport Road. The pedestrian was Torrie Chelsea Minnart, 27, of Olin. She was transported by EMS Air to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle, a 2000 Chevy S10, was later identified as Levi Allen Miller, 26, of Anamosa. He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, driving while license under suspension, and no insurance. Miller was uninjured and his vehicle sustained approximately $50 in damages.

     A car vs. deer accident took place on Oct. 25 at 7:23 a.m. on Highway 151. Ruhl Arno Barker, 62, of Monticello, was driving a 2016 Chevy Silverado when he came into contact with a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Barker’s vehicle sustained approximately $6,500 in damages.

     A car vs. deer accident took place on Oct. 24 at 7:33 p.m. on Highway 64. Randy Hollis Hahn, 59, of Delmar, was driving a 2009 Ford FLX when he came into contact with a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Hahn’s vehicle sustained approximately $6,000 in damages.

     A car vs. deer accident took place on Oct. 25 at 2:48 a.m. on Highway 151. Aaron Douglas Aplara, 24, of Salem, was driving a 2011 Ford Crown Victoria when he came into contact with a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Aplara’s vehicle sustained approximately $2,000 in damages.

     A car vs. deer accident took place on Oct. 26 at 10:09 p.m. on Highway 64. Nicholas Andrew Joos, 26, of Dubuque, was driving a 2013 Kia Sol when he came into contact with a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Joos’ vehicle sustained approximately $6,000 in damages.
