Sheriff's Report

     A car vs. deer accident took place on Nov. 6 at 1:56 a.m. on County Road D-62. Nicholas Michael Schaeffer, 22, of Anamosa, was driving a 2010 Peterbilt 389 when he came into contact with a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Schaeffer’s vehicle sustained approximately $5,000 in damages.

     A car vs. deer accident took place on Nov. 5 at 5:04 p.m. on Highway 151. Gabriel Shawn Kline, 28, of Cedar Rapids, was driving a 2017 Subaru Crosstrek when he came into contact with a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Kline’s vehicle sustained approximately $9,000 in damages.

     A car vs. deer accident took place on Nov. 4 at 7:19 a.m. on Highway 151. Ronald Kenneth Ahrens, 51, of Janesville, Wis., was driving a 2014 Chevy Malibu when he came into contact with a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Ahrens’s vehicle sustained approximately $4,500 in damages.

     A car vs. deer accident took place on Nov. 6 at 8:29 p.m. on Highway 38. Anthony Banks, 47, of Hopkinton, was driving a 2001 Dodge Caravan when he encountered a deer in the roadway. Banks swerved to void the deer, causing his vehicle to enter the west ditch and roll over. Both Banks and a passenger were treated by the Monticello Ambulance Service at the scene. Bank’s vehicle sustained approximately $5,000 in damages.

     A car vs. deer accident took place on Nov. 6 at 5:28 p.m. on Highway 151. Jason Lee Rubel, 46, of Marion, was driving a 2005 Buick LaCrosse when he came into contact with a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Rubel’s vehicle sustained approximately $3,500 in damages.

     A car vs. deer accident took place on Nov. 7 at 5:58 p.m. on County Road D-61. Jennifer Nicole Schoob, 46, of Bernard, was driving a 2011 Chevy Traverse LTZ when she came into contact with a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Schoob’s vehicle sustained approximately $4,000 in damages.

     A car vs. deer accident took place on Nov. 7 at 9:53 p.m. on Highway 151. Tamera Lynn Costello, 35, of Anamosa, was driving a 1993 Plymouth Acclaim when she came into contact with a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported, though the Anamosa Ambulance was called to the scene for precautionary measures. Costello’s vehicle sustained approximately $4,000 in damages.

     A car vs. deer accident took place on Nov. 8 at 2:19 a.m. on Highway 151. Anthony Michael Rickard, 24, of Anamosa, was driving a 1999 Buick Century when he came into contact with a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Rickard’s vehicle sustained approximately $4,000 in damages.

     A car vs. deer accident took place on Nov. 7 at 6:02 a.m. near County Road E-17 and 169th Street. Stephen James Intlekofer, 68, of Anamosa, was driving a 2008 Toyota Tundra when he came into contact with a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Intlekofer’s vehicle sustained approximately $4,500 in damages.

     A one-vehicle accident took place on Sept. 22 at 4:43 a.m. near Highway 136 and Highway 64. Christopher Michael Sheehan, 41, of Walford was driving a 2009 Nissan Sentra when he ran a stop sign and lost control. Sheehan hit a road sign and ended up in the ditch. No injuries were reported. Sheehan’s vehicle sustained approximately $3,000 in damages. He was cited for failure to obey stop sign and yield right of way and failure to maintain control.

     A one-vehicle accident took place on Nov. 5 at 6:08 a.m. on Highway 151. Matthew Alexander Maestas, 23, of Ryan was driving a 1994 Honda Accord when he lost control and entered the ditch. An off-duty officer witnessed the accident and stopped to assist Maestas, who then ran into the timber and could not be located. No injuries were reported. Maestas’s vehicle sustained approximately $2,500 in damages.

     A two-vehicle accident took place on Nov. 4 at 12:16 p.m. on Highway 64. Edward Wallace Spengler, 84, of New Liberty, was driving a 2002 Mercury Marquis when he crossed the centerline and struck another vehicle, driven by Michael Rae Williams, 64, of Center Junction. Williams was driving a 1999 Chevy Malibu. No injuries were reported for either driver. Spengler’s vehicle sustained approximately $5,000 in damages. Williams’ vehicle sustained approximately $2,500 in damages.
