Sheriff's Report

     A car vs. deer accident took place on Nov. 10 at 5:30 p.m. on Highway 151. Cynthia Marie Vosberg, 62, of Dubuque, was driving a 2013 Nissan Altima when she came into contact with a deer in the roadway. A minor injury was reported, but Vosberg refused medical treatment. Her vehicle sustained approximately $10,000 in damages.

     A car vs. deer accident took place on Nov. 10 at 11 p.m. on Highway 151. John Matthew Duffy, 66, of Maple Grove, Minn., was driving a 2016 GMC Yukon when he came into contact with a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Duffy’s vehicle sustained approximately $6,000 in damages.

     A car vs. cow accident took place on Nov. 12 at 6:37 p.m. on Doe Road. Philip William Knepper, 26, of Worthington, was driving a 2001 Ford Ranger when he came into contact with a cow in the roadway. No injuries were reported. The livestock, owned by Brad Hughes, was retrieved uninjured. Knepper’s vehicle sustained approximately $2,500 in damages.

     A car vs. deer accident took place on Nov. 11 at 1:51 p.m. on Highway 151. Alice Anne Balk, 61, of Dubuque, was driving a 2017 Toyota Rav4 when she came into contact with a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Balk’s vehicle sustained approximately $4,500 in damages.

     A two-vehicle accident took place on Nov. 10 at 8:31 a.m. near County Road E-34/Fairview Road and 230th Avenue. According to the Sheriff’s Report, both vehicles were northbound on Fairview Road when Angela Marie Simmons, 39, of Clinton, struck Jessica Lynn Bontranger, 25, of Lisbon when she passed Simmons. Bontranger was driving a 2015 Chevy Malibu; Simmons was driving a 2008 Chevy Uplander. No injuries were reported. Simmons’ vehicle sustained approximately $1,500 in damages, while Bontranger’s vehicle sustained approximately $2,500 in damages.

     A car vs. deer accident took place on Nov. 13 at 5:45 a.m. on County Road E-45. Andrew Steven Bixler, 27, of Olin, was driving a 2015 Kia Forte when he came into contact with a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Bixler’s vehicle sustained approximately $3,600 in damages.

     A one-vehicle accident took place on Nov. 9 at 6:17 p.m. near Highway 151 and the northbound on-ramp from Highway 64. Catherine Frances Feldmann, 60, of Monticello was driving a 2007 Chrysler Town & Country when, according to the Sheriff’s report, she veered to the left towards the median and then rolled several times. Catherine and her two passengers, Lori Feldmann, 38, and Abby Feldmann, 26, both of Monticello were extricated from the van, which landed on the driver’s side. Catherine was taken by Anamosa Ambulance to Jones Regional Medical Center for her injuries, and later transferred to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Lori was taken by Monticello Ambulance to JRMC for her injuries, and also transferred to UIHC. Abby was taken by Anamosa Ambulance to JRMC and later released. Catherine’s vehicle sustained approximately $8,000 in damages.

     A car vs. deer accident took place on Nov. 15 at 6:19 p.m. on Highway 151. Edward Dale Engelbart, 70, of Anamosa, was driving a 2017 Jeep Patriot when he came into contact with a deer in the roadway. Minor injuries were reported, but no transport was needed. Engelbart’s vehicle sustained approximately $10,000 in damages.

     A car vs. deer accident took place on Nov. 15 at 5:40 p.m. on County Road E-45. Pamela Ruth Cooper, 46, of Lisbon, was driving a 2013 Chevy Malibu when she came into contact with a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Cooper’s vehicle sustained approximately $8,000 in damages.

     A car vs. deer accident took place on Nov. 16 at 6:44 a.m. on County Road X-44. Jeffrey Todd Petersen, 53, of Olin, was driving a 2001 Saturn SL when he came into contact with a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Petersen’s vehicle sustained approximately $2,500 in damages.

     A car vs. deer accident took place on Nov. 16 at 5:15 p.m. on County Road E-23. Jonathan Lynn Scranton, 41, of Anamosa, was driving a 2006 Ford F150 when he came into contact with a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Scranton’s vehicle sustained approximately $6,500 in damages.
