Sheriff's Report

     A car vs. deer accident took place on Nov. 18 at 9:24 p.m. on Highway 151. Thomas Robert Lyng, 63, of Pella, was driving a 2011 Honda CRV when he came into contact with a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Lyng’s vehicle sustained approximately $7,000 in damages.

     A car vs. deer accident took place on Nov. 19 at 2:06 a.m. on County Road E-34. Alan Melville, 43, of Anamosa, was driving a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan when he came into contact with a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Melville’s vehicle sustained approximately $3,500 in damages.

     A two-vehicle accident took place on Nov. 21 at 10:07 a.m. on Highway 64. Lavonne Mary Ludwig, 71, of Anamosa was driving a 2015 Chrysler Town & Country westbound when the stoplight changed. Ludwig was unable to stop and struck Robert Charles Vacek, 76, of Wyoming, driving a 2002 Dodge Dakota SLT. Vacek was making his way through the green light when hit. No injuries were reported for either driver. Ludwig’s vehicle sustained approximately $3,500 in damages, while Vacek’s vehicle sustained approximately $2,500 in damages.
