Sheriff's Report

     A one-vehicle accident took place on Feb. 23 at 8:34 a.m. on 205^th Avenue in Anamosa. Eli Carl Hunerdosse, 30, of Central City was driving a 2015 Ford F250 Super Duty when he encountered ice on the roadway. Hunerdosse lost control and entered the east ditch. No injuries were reported. Hunerdosse’s vehicle sustained approximately $5,000 in damages.

     A one-vehicle accident took place on Feb. 17 at 1 p.m. on County Road X-64/32^nd Street. Aaron Daniel Bontrager, 38, of Iowa City was driving a 2010 Mazda CX-7 when he lost control in a sharp left-hand curve due to snow/slush on the roadway. No injuries were reported. There was an unspecified amount of damage to a county sign. Bontrager’s vehicle sustained approximately $3,000 in damages.

     A one-vehicle accident took place on Feb. 17 at 1:26 p.m. on Highway 64. Wesley Edwin Merryman, 74, of Cedar Rapids was driving a 2005 Toyota Avalon XL when he lost control due to the snow-covered roadway. Merryman’s vehicle entered the north ditch, rolling over one time and landing on its wheels. He sustained minor injuries. Merryman’s vehicle sustained approximately $5,000 in damages.

     A one-vehicle accident took place on Feb. 17 at 12:45 p.m. on County Road E-28. Robert Vernet Robertson, 42, of Anamosa was driving a 2010 Toyota Corolla when he lost control around a snow-covered corner and entered the ditch. No injuries were reported. There was an estimated $1,000 in damages to a private fence owned by Bill Dietiker of Anamosa. Robertson’s vehicle sustained approximately $8,000 in damages.
