Sheriff's Report

     A car versus deer accident took place on April 17 at 5:57 a.m. on Highway 64. Timothy Gene Otte, 34, of Wyoming, was driving a 2010 Corolla XL when he encountered a deer on the roadway. No injuries were reported. Otte’s vehicle sustained approximately $2,500 in damages.

     A one-vehicle accident took place on April 14 at 8 p.m. on Highway 151. Brooklyn Mae Steiner, 17, of Monticello, was driving a 2012 Chevy Cruze LT when she started to hydroplane due to the road conditions. Steiner lost control and entered the ditch. No injuries were reported. He vehicle sustained approximately $4,000 in damages.

     A one-vehicle accident took place on April 15 at 8:52 p.m. on Elm Street. Nicholas Dylan Miller, 19, of Springville, was driving a 1996 Dodge RAM 1500 when he pulled onto a bridge from Pinicon Park. Due to the icy road conditions, Miller lost control and hit the railing on the side of the bridge. Miller and passenger sustained possible injuries and were transported to Jones Regional Medical Center by Anamosa Ambulance. Miller’s vehicle sustained approximately $3,000 in damages.
