Sheriff's Report

     A car versus deer accident took place on Nov. 6 at 5:47 p.m. on Highway 151. Isabella Victoria Solis, 21, of Bettendorf was driving a 2008 Honda Civic when she encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Solis’ vehicle sustained an estimated $10,000 in damages.

     A car versus deer accident took place on Nov. 5 at 6:27 p.m. on County Road E-34. Pamela Joyce Schumann, 55, of Anamosa was driving a 2005 Nissan Altima when she encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Schumann’s vehicle sustained an estimated $1,500 in damages.

     A car versus deer accident took place on Nov. 5 at 10:40 p.m. on Highway 151. Jason David Jeremiason, 42, of Monroe, Wis., was driving a 2018 Dodge Ram when he encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Jeremiason’s vehicle sustained an estimated $15,000 in damages.

     A car versus deer accident took place on Nov. 1 at 7:44 p.m. on Highway 151. Katy Lyn Appelhans, 38, of Anamosa, was driving a 2016 Ford Taurus when she encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Appelhans’s vehicle sustained an estimated $8,000 in damages.

     A two-vehicle accident took place on Nov. 3 at 2:01 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 64 and Boblink Road. Jennifer Ann Ready Mrstik, 40, of Cedar Rapids was driving a 2010 Ford Escape eastbound on 64 when she signaled to turn right. Noting she was at a T-intersection, Mrstik then changed her mind and turned on her left turn signal. Nicholas Peter Christensen, 39, of Central City was driving a 2015 Ram 5500 as he started to pass Mrstik on the left. The vehicles sideswiped one another, causing Mrstik to roll onto its driver’s side. No injuries were reported. Mrstik’s vehicle sustained an estimated $3,000 in damages. Christensen’s vehicle damage was also estimated at $3,000.

     A car versus deer accident took place on Nov. 4 at 4:50 p.m. on 35th Street. Dennis Donald Ulbrich, 49, of New Vienna, was driving a 2017 Chevy Silverado C3500 when he encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Ulbrich’s vehicle sustained an estimated $3,000 in damages.

     A two-vehicle accident took place on Oct. 26 at 3:21 p.m. at the intersection of 180th Street and 190th Avenue. Thomas Jamison Davis, 31, of Monticello was driving a 2008 Dodge Truck west on 180th. Gage Joseph-David Szakacs, 16, of Anamosa was driving a 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue south on 190th, while stopped at a stop sign. Szakacs entered the intersection and struck Davis, saying his view of the other driver was obstructed. Davis’ vehicle spun out of control and rolled onto its side, coming to rest in the traveled portion of the roadway. Davis sustained minor injuries. Szakacs was uninjured. There was an estimated $20,000 in damages to Davis’ vehicle. Szakacs’ vehicle sustained an estimated $2,000 in damages. Szakacs was also cited for no valid driver’s license and failing to yield.

     A car versus deer accident took place on Nov. 4 at 7:04 p.m. on County Road E-17. Tyler Bryce Johnson, 22, of Monticello was driving a 2010 Dodge Challenger when he encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Johnson’s vehicle sustained an estimated $10,000 in damages.

     A car versus deer accident took place on Nov. 9 at 12:25 a.m. on Highway 151. Jose Luis Villa, 28, of Green Bay, Wis., was driving a 2016 Toyota SD when he encountered a deer in the roadway. Villa sustained possible injuries. His vehicle sustained an estimated $5,000 in damages.

     A car versus deer accident took place on Nov. 8 at 5:15 p.m. on Highway 151. Charles Edward Faulkner, 43, of Cedar Rapids was driving a 2011 Dodge R15 when he encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Faulkner’s vehicle sustained an estimated $3,000 in damages.
