Sheriff's Report

     A one-vehicle accident took place on Feb. 4 approximately between 2 and 3 a.m. on County Road E-45. Caleb Hunter Bickel, 18, of Anamosa, was driving a 2003 Ford F250 when the right side of the tires veered off the road. The truck pulled toward the left, crossing the centerline. Bickel entered the ditch, hit the embankment, causing the truck to spin 180 degrees before coming to a stop. Bickel sustained minor injuries, and was checked out by Olin EMS. He was cited for failure to maintain control, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, failure to maintain lanes, no proof of financial liability, and possession of alcohol. His vehicle sustained approximately $15,000 in damages.
