Sheriff's Report

     A car versus deer accident took place on Dec. 10 at 11:31 a.m. on 130th Avenue. Lennie John Kiburz, 46, of Monticello was driving a 2015 Ford F150 when he encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Kiburz’s vehicle sustained an estimated $4,000 in damages.

     A two-vehicle versus deer accident took place on Dec. 11 at 6 p.m. on County Road E-34. Lori Ann Madrick, 56, of Anamosa was driving a 2014 Ford Escape north on E-34 when she struck a deer on the roadway. Lindsay Marie Stupka, 39, of Anamosa was driving a 2015 Kia Sol traveling south when the deer flew into her lane of traffic from the initial accident. No injuries were reported. Madrick’s vehicle sustained an estimated $1,500 in damages; Stupka’s vehicle also sustained an estimated $1,500 in damages.

     A car versus deer accident took place on Dec. 10 at 6:32 p.m. on Highway 64. Scott Eugene Hermann, 62, of Camanche was driving a 2003 Chevy Tahoe when he encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Hermann’s vehicle sustained an estimated $5,000 in damages.

     A car versus deer accident took place on Dec. 11 at 6:35 a.m. on Highway 151. Isaiah Jonathan Borel, 32, of Solon was driving a 2017 Ford Fusion when he encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Borel’s vehicle sustained an estimated $3,000 in damages.

     A car versus deer accident took place on Dec. 5 at 5:15 a.m. on Highway 151. Gerold Wayne Blazek, 60, of Anamosa was driving a 2017 RAM pickup when he encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Blazek’s vehicle sustained an estimated $5,000 in damages.

      A two-vehicle accident took place on Nov. 27 at 5:45 p.m. on Highway 151. Christopher Scott Hinrichs, 37, of Monticello was driving a 2008 Ford Escape XLS southbound on 151. Hinrichs was following Dennis Donald Schmid, 65, of Anamosa. Schmid was operating a 2012 AGCO TerraGator owned by Innovated Ag Services in Monticello. Schmid was half way on the highway and half way on the shoulder. Schmid swerved to the left and Hinrichs was unable to brake and hit the left rear tire of the TerraGator. Hinrichs ended up in the median. The Sheriff’s Officer observed non-working rear lights on the TerraGator. No injuries were reported for either driver. Hinrichs’ vehicle sustained an estimated $8,000 in damages. The TerraGator sustained an estimated $100.

     A two-vehicle accident took place on Dec. 12 at 8:25 a.m. on Highway 151. Morgan Elizabeth Harris, 36, of Iowa City was driving a 2013 Nissan SBL. Christopher Allison Clark Smith, 38, of Wyoming was driving a 2014 Chevy Equinox. Both drivers were northbound on 151 when Smith rear-ended Harris. No injuries were reported. Harris’ vehicle sustained an estimated $3,000 in damages. Smith’s vehicle sustained $1,000.
