Sheriff's Report

     A two-vehicle accident took place on Dec. 19 at 2:13 p.m. on Highway 151 near 228th Street in Anamosa. Angele Rose Stewart, 33, of Cedar Rapids was driving a 2012 Dodge Journey SE northbound in the left lane. Terry Paul Hopper, 61, of East Dubuque, Ill., was driving a 2009 Chevy Impala, also northbound, but in the right lane. Hopper passed Stewart on the right side and then attempted to get over in the left lane without checking his blind spot, and hit the front passenger side of Stewart’s vehicle. No injuries were reported for either driver. Stewart’s vehicle sustained an estimated $500 in damages. Hopper’s vehicle sustained an estimated $1,000 in damages. Hopper was also cited for unsafe passing.

     A car versus deer accident took place on Dec. 23 4:30 a.m. on Highway 151. Matthew David Clemens, 26, of Green Bay, Wis., was driving a 2008 Volvo when he encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Clemens’ vehicle sustained an estimated $4,000 in damages.

     A car versus deer accident took place on Dec. 24 6:10 p.m. on Highway 151. Christopher J. Kleitsch, 33, of Madison, Wis., was driving a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica van when he encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Kleitsch’s vehicle sustained an estimated $5,000 in damages.
