Sheriff's Report

A car versus deer accident took place on Oct. 16 at 6:11 a.m. on 215th Avenue. Doug Michael Zahradnik, 55, of Olin was driving a 2013 Ford F350 when he encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Zahradnik’s vehicle sustained an estimated $1,000 in damages. 

A single-vehicle accident took place on Oct. 17 at 3:42 p.m. on 215th Avenue. Robert Neal Scranton, 15, of Martelle was driving a 2001 Ford Explorer Eddie when he got too close to the ditch and lost control. Scranton’s vehicle then rolled over into the field. No injuries were reported of the driver or passengers. Damage to Scranton’s vehicle was estimated at $1,500. There was also $250 in damage to a fence owned by Randall Ray Hinrichsen of Anamosa. 

A car versus deer accident took place on Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. on Highway 151. Gerald Wayne Loy, 61, of Anamosa was driving a 2001 Toyota Echo when he encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Loy’s vehicle sustained an estimated $5,000 in damages. 

A car versus deer accident took place on Oct. 23 at 5:48 a.m. on Highway 151. Ashley Marie McClain, 29, of Cascade was driving a 2011 Toyota Camry when she encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. McClain’s vehicle sustained an estimated $5,000 in damages.
