Drake Relays

to include HS

competition

High school competition will return to the Drake Relays in 2021, according to a press release from Drake University.

Unlike past years, when high school athletes would compete all three days of the event, all high school events will be confined to Thursday, April 22, tentatively from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Strict COVID-19 protocols will be enforced.

All high school running events will be run as finals, except for the 4x100 relay, which will likely be reduced from 12 to six preliminaries. All field events will have prelims and finals.

The Drake Relays were cancelled in 2020.
