Stoneking opens Sunrise Therapy

     Nicole Monk-Stoneking recently opened Sunrise Therapy and Counseling Services in downtown Monticello. She specializes in child and adolescent (ages 3 to 18 years) individual and family therapy.

     Stoneking said she sees clients who are referred to her via a doctor or the child’s (children’s) school, as well as those referring themselves.

     Stoneking worked for a therapy agency in the past and wanted to branch off on her own, serving the town in which she lives.

     “There are not a lot of resources around here,” she said of mental health services.

     Sunrise Therapy and Counseling Services is located at 216 W. First St. in Monticello. Services are available by appointment only.

     Stoneking has a master’s degree in social work and is independently licensed. In addition, she has the training required for a registered play therapist.

     Sunrise Therapy accepts Wellmark, Medicaid and Midlands Choice insurance.
