Summer Discovery Camps set
Summer Discovery Camps for kids grades K-5 are scheduled throughout Jones County for the summer of 2019.
The 2019 camp theme is “It's a Water-Ful Life!”
Experience Hands-On Summer Science at the camps, which feature the following:
• STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) projects to take home each day.
• Creativity, innovation and problem solving.
• Snacks, games, and hands-on learning.
• Water conservation practicies and experiments.
• Design your own shoe garden and rain gauge.
The $30 registration fee (per participant) includes daily curriculum materials and snacks. Registrations are due by May 24.
Camps are being held at the following locations:
Anamosa, Lawrence Community Center, June 17-21 – Grades K-2 will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. daily; Grades 3-5 will be from 1 to 3 p.m. daily.
Wyoming, Calkins Barn, June 3-7 – Grades K-5 will be from 9 to11:30 a.m. daily.
Oxford Junction, Community Center, June 3-7 – Grades K-5 will be from 1 to 3:30 p.m. daily.
Olin, Olin Elementary, June 10-14 – Grades K-5 will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. daily.
Cascade, City Hall, June 24-28 – Grades K-5 will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. daily.
Monticello, Citizens State Bank Youth Development Center, July 29-August 2 – Grades K-2 will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. daily; Grades 3-5 will be from 1 to 3:30 p.m. daily.
