Supervisors hold special meeting

     The Jones County Board of Supervisors held a special meeting on Oct. 27.

     On the agenda was approval of a claim in the amount of $6,735.17 for a vendor providing services to the mental health region. County Auditor Janine Sulzner explained that the region submitted a claim, but missed the payment deadline on Oct. 17. (Jones County is the current fiscal agent for the region.)

     The board approved the claim.

     The board also approved the use of the Board of Supervisors’ letterhead for a letter of recommendation written by Supervisor Ned Rohwedder.

     Rohwedder’s letter endorses Jones County Sheriff Greg Graver for The American Legion of Iowa’s Law Enforcement Office of the Year Award.

     The board approved the letter of recommendation.
